Ibandronate (138926-19-9) is a clinically useful drug for the prevention and treatment of osteoporosis and skeletal fractures in patients with cancer.  It is a potent inhibitor of farnesyl pyrophosphate synthase (IC50 = 20 nM) and strongly binds to hydroxyapatite.1
