C6-NBD Ceramide (94855-02-6) is a selective stain for the Golgi apparatus.1 Readily taken up by MDCK cells and converted into C6-NBD-sphingomyelin and C6-NBD-glucosyl-ceramide.2 A useful substrate for assay of ceramide kinase.3 May be used to monitor the biosynthesis and degradation of sphinogmyelin in cellular systems.4  Ex: 455 nm and Em: 533 nm.4
