17-PAAG is a semi-synthetic analog of geldanamycin which possesses an acetylenic side chain for coupling to other probes, fluorophores and bioactive molecules such as steroids via click chemistry.1 Chemical modifications at C17 are well known not to interfere with binding of geldanamycin to HSP90 client proteins.2-4
