Benzamidine HCl (1670-14-0) is a reversible inhibitor of trypsin and trypsin-like enzymes and other serine proteases.1-3 Concentration used for general protease inhibition is 1 mM. Also a competitive inhibitor of thrombin and plasmin. May be added to blood samples to prevent proteolytic degradation of various peptide analytes such as glucagon4 and TRH5.
