Ferroptosis is a type of cell death caused by iron-dependent peroxidation of phospholipids and is important for proper function of tumor suppression, immune surveillance, and the central nervous system.
A recent paper by Wang et al. reviews the role of ferroptosis in suppressing tumor progression, and discusses how small molecule inducers of ferroptosis might be used in the clinic.
Focus Biomolecules offers a portfolio of small molecule tools for ferroptosis research, including GPX4 (glutathione peroxidase 4) inhibitors RSL3 and ML210, and and Ferrostatin derivative (and ferroptosis inhibitor) SRS16-86.
