Beauvericin, a mycotoxin produced by various Fusarium spp, is an important food and animal feed contaminant. Its diverse toxic activities coupled with its ability to cross the blood-brain barrier suggest its potential neurotoxicity. W-Z Liang and coworkers recently explored Beauvericin’s toxic effects on human astrocytes and showed that induction of oxidative stress is a prominent mechanism.
Focus Biomolecules supplies Beauvericin for research applications. Ask us for our complete list of mycotoxins!
