Journal Club: In a paper just out in Nature Communications, Arthur Neuberger and coworkers report the cryo-electron microscopy structures of human TRPV1 in the apo state and in complex with the nanomolar-affinity tool compound SB-366791, showing that it acts as an allosteric hTRPV1 blocker. This work should facilitate the design of new drugs targeting TRPV1.
