Bioprocessing

Bioprocessing is the generation of products—including biotherapeutics (e.g. proteins, drugs, stem cells) —using cellular organelles, cells, viruses, or whole organisms. Various small molecules can be utilized to optimize many stages of the process, including defined medium design, feed/supplement selection, expression host selection, lead candidate production, process optimization, scaleup, and validation. These include modulators of glycosylation, cell growth, protease activity, and cellular transport to enhance production and quality.
