7-Dehydrocholesterol (434-16-2) is an endogenous cholesterol precursor and is photochemically converted to vitamin D3 in the skin.1  It has recently been found to be an endogenous suppressor of ferroptosis and can confer a prosurvival state in cancer cells.2
