Asunaprevir (630420-16-5) is a potent hepatitis C virus NS3 protease inhibitor (IC50 = 0.2 – 3.5 nM).1 Asunaprevir was used as part of a repressible Cas9 system (small molecule-assisted shut off – SMASh) capable of degrading newly synthesized Cas9 protein rapidly to precisely control gene editing.2,3 The Asunapreivr/SMASh system has also been using to target endogenous PD-1 protein for proteasomal degradation.4
