CGS 15943 (104615-18-1) is a potent adenosine receptor antagonist (IC50s: A1 = 21 nM; A2 = 3.3 nM).1,2 It has also been reported to be an activator of the aryl hydrocarbon receptor (AhR; EC50 = 96 nM) with pro-apoptotic effects in mouse and human liver and triple negative breast cancer cells3 and in lung cancer cells4. CGS 15943 displayed cardiac anti-fibrotic activity via adenosine receptor-dependent activation of PI3K-AKT and YAP leading to reduction of both fibrotic gene expression and fibroblast activation.5
