CIB-3b (124811-87-6) inhibits microRNA (miRNA) biogenesis via binding (KD = 10.42 nM) to transactivation response (TAR) RNA-binding protein 2 (TRBP), disrupting the TRBP-Dicer interaction, a critical element in pre-miRNA processing. It inhibited mi-R21 (EC50 = 1.38 µM) expression, a potent inducer of cellular EMT progression.  CIB-3b inhibited hepatocarcinogenesis by blocking EMT in a mouse orthotopic transplantation model (SK-HEP-1 cells).
