In a recent paper in Cell Research, Li and coworkers explored the nuclear function of RIPK1 and demonstrated that RIPK1 phosphorylates a key component of the BAF complex, promoting chromatin remodeling and the transcription of proinflammatory genes. Treatment of TNF-activated cells with 7-Cl-O-Nec1 reversed this process.
