Chroman 1 is an important new small molecule tool for the generation and maintenance of stem cells. An extremely potent (1 pM) inhibitor of Rho kinase II (ROCK-II), it is a key component in the CEPT cocktail [with trans-ISRIB (Cat# 10-1539), Emricasan (Cat# 10-4280), and polyamines (Chen et al. 2021)] which promotes cytoprotective cell survival of human pluripotent stem cells (hPSC).
