Fumarate hydratase-IN-1 (1644060-37-6) is a pro-drug inhibitor of fumarate hydratase, an important enzyme in the tricarboxylic acid (TCA) cycle.  This cell permeable compound is converted to the active carboxylic acid by intracellular esterases (Ki = 4.5 µM for free acid).  The ethyl ester displayed cell-growth inhibitory activity against several cancer lines under nutrient (glucose) deprived conditions with an average IC50 = 2.2 µM.
