In a paper just out in Nature Medicine, the team at Actuate Therapeutics reported the results of their Phase II trial on “Elraglusib and Chemotherapy” in metastatic pancreatic ductal carcinoma. The safety and efficacy of elraglusib with gemcitabine plus nab-paclitaxel (GnP) compared to GnP alone was assessed. The 1-year survival rates were 44.1% versus 22.3%. Elraglusib is a GSK-3β inhibitor exhibiting a multimodal MOA which in preclinical models not only inhibited proliferation and survival but also sensitized cancer cells to chemotherapeutic agents and prevented chemoresistance.
