FOCUS on Drug Failures. The FDA rejected Biohaven’s glutamate modulator Troriluzole for treatment of spinocerebellar ataxia, a rare and life-threatening neurodegenerative disease with no treatment options. The FDA pointed to issues such as “potential bias, design flaws, lack of pre-specification and unmeasured confounding factors” among others which influenced its decision. Troriluzole is a third-generation tripeptide prodrug of Riluzole, a drug that was first synthesized in 1963 and has been investigated for its neuroprotective effects. Focus Biomolecules can supply Troriluzole for research applications. Contact us for more information.
