OAC2 (Oct4 Activating Compound 2; 6019-39-2) is an activator of octamer-binding transcription factor 4 (Oct4) which plays a role in self-renewal of undifferentiated embryonic stem cells and regulates embryonic stem cell pluripotency. Thus, OAC2 enhances iPSC reprogramming efficiency.1  OAC2 is one component in the 9C cocktail used to convert human fibroblasts to functional cardiomyocytes.2 It has been employed in the generation of chicken induced pluripotent stem cells from somatic cells using multi-lentiviral transduction.3
