Rbin-1 (328023-11-6) is potent (GI50 = 136 nM) and reversible inhibitor of eukaryotic ribosome assembly. The biochemical target of Rbin-1 is Midasin (Mdn1), an essential AAA+ protein. Blocking of Mdn1 by Rbin-1 inhibits the processing of pre-60S particles, important pre-ribosomal subunits produced in the nucleolus.
