Phosphatidylinositol 3-kinases (PI3K) are a family of lipid kinases that regulate various cellular processes including DNA repair, cell cycle, metabolism, senescence, and cell death. Aberrant PI3K function is implicated in a significant percentage of human cancers. The IntelliscreenTM PI3K Inhibitor mini-library includes compounds that target important kinases in this family: Class I PI3Ks (PI3Kα, PI3Kß, PI3Kγ, PI3Kδ) which catalyze the conversion of phosphatidylinositol (4,5)-bisphosphate to the triphosphate, class II (PIK3C2A, PIK3C2B, PIK3C2G) the conversion of phosphatidylinositol to the 3-phosphate and phosphatidyl 4-phosphate to the 3,4-diphosphate, and class III (PIK3C3 or Vps34) the conversion of phosphatidylinositol to the 3-phosphate.
